The Heart of our CK Wines

Our Story
The story of our estate began in 1833, sparked by the inventive spirit of pharmacist Friedrich Koch. The winery flourished under his son, Carl Koch—the former mayor of Oppenheim—reaching its current size by the close of the 19th century. Remaining in family hands for seven generations, the estate entered a new chapter in 2009 under the leadership of Paul Berkes. Our 12 hectares of vineyards, perched on the sun-drenched slopes above Oppenheim and Dienheim, have been organically farmed since 2010, reflecting our deep respect for the land. Today, operations manager Agustín Novoa carries this legacy forward with a philosophy of profound restraint. By stepping back and allowing the wine the space to develop its own voice, we ensure the narrative of our winery remains one of care, dedication, and the natural magic of the vine.
Our Vineyards
“Our roots are anchored in the historic Grand Cru vineyards of Oppenheim and Dienheim. Having farmed these same slopes for centuries, we view ourselves as guardians of the land. Today, we continue this journey through dedicated organic viticulture, preserving the soul of the region’s finest denominations.”
